It’s too easy to throw a big hit in order to get a reaction from the crowd, for me the buzz and adrenalin comes from building to that moment taking my time letting my DJ gut instinct tell me the perfect time to both execute a euphoric lift (or any energy shift), then knowing where to head

afterwards to compliment that moment. The whole time leading up to these moments is nerve- racking because I could lose the dance floor at any moment especially if you leave it too late

and lose the interest of the crowd, it takes great skill to keep the crowd engaged with the musical story you’re unfolding, but not give away the ending, like a movie that keeps you on the edge of your seat with twists and turns and you have no idea where its heading not being able to take your eyes off the screen. These nerve-racking moments are a lightening rod to remind me that I’m performing live, this situation is in my hands, just me in control of hundreds of people, but that pressure, that adrenalin is what I live for in impromptu sets as the feeling after is mind-blowing. A story teller using the power of music to create a game of tease and anticipation, often referred to as the push and pull technique.
